You have to get lost along the wild coast to find the most beautiful beaches of Mykonos. Actually it is not one of the best Greek islands to live in, but spending a couple of weeks there will be a great vacation. Here are our 3 favorites.

On the beaches of Mykonos, it can be difficult to get a place in the sun. As soon as the sun comes out, bathers flock to the most popular beaches of the island, and beach clubs and restaurants fill the space with their terraces and events.

Come with us to discover the small secret beaches during your vacation in Mykonos. Rent a car to explore these island hideaways north of Chora or head to the more family-friendly southern beaches for a day away from it all on your luxury sun vacation in Greece.

AGIOS SOSTIS

Lost along the wild coastline is Agios Sostis, the most beautiful beach of Mykonos, and also one of the quietest. Here, we swim in turquoise waters, overlooked by a pretty white chapel. No natural shade and no deckchair, so you have to come prepared. This is our favorite beach in Mykonos and ideal for those in search of tranquility.

At the end of this long day of bathing we lazily go back to the only tavern installed in the surroundings. Kiki’s Tavern, unlike the beach it overlooks, is a very popular restaurant in Mykonos. In an enchanting setting, facing the sea and the spectacle of the sunset, you can taste the specialties and fish of the local gastronomy. Also, there are several private homes that can provide you with accommodation, so it won’t be necessary to travel back to the hotel. All of them can be found.

FOKOS

From the beautiful town of Ano Mera, we take the winding roads to reach the confidential beach of Fokos. Located in the north of the island, hidden in a sheltered cove, this sandy beach with crystal clear water seems to have never been trodden by man. It is one of the most beautiful destinations of Mykonos and offers an extraordinary natural setting. Before our eyes, an arch rises above the water as an invitation to swim.

Here again, only one tavern welcomes the adventurers who have found the address. Fokos Taverna is a cozy restaurant where you can taste typical local dishes in a unique, terribly romantic setting, as if you were alone in the world.

AGIA ANNA

The beaches of the south are known for their lively atmosphere. However, by following the coast, we discover a soft strip of fine sand in the middle of the reliefs. Bordered by a small fishing port, the beach of Agia Anna gives off a unique feeling of authenticity. It is an ideal refuge during a family vacation in the sun in Greece.

It is less secluded than the previous ones and three tavernas line this small beach. Choose between the shaded loungers of these restaurants or put your towel on the wild part of the beach. The beach is perfect for a relaxing time – children can watch the colorful fish in the sea while parents rest on the warm sand.

Finding the perfect beach to lay your towel on is a must on a trip to Mykonos, between festivity and peace and quiet, it’s up to you.
