I’ve already talked about wigs here and those who already know them know that they are very practical and that’s why they are the darlings of many celebrities. Lace front wigs are gaining in popularity here especially because they are made to look very natural and realistic.
For women looking for alternative hairstyles or styles, human hair wigs are a great choice! With them, you can easily change the look, changing color or texture, without damaging your hair. Also, you can go from long to short without cutting, and you can go from short to long without waiting that long for the hairs to grow. It’s becoming more and more popular to see women wearing a t part lace wig that looks just like real hair.
But if you’ve decided to enter the world of wigs now, you need to know that there are some unwritten “rules” about how to wear the wig in a way that doesn’t harm the hair under it. For example, if you are not careful when putting on your headband wig, it can damage the health of your hair and scalp.
That’s why I decided to write this post. Here you can learn how to use a lace front without damaging your own hair. Just follow these tips:
Tips for taking care of your hair under the wig
1 – Fasten your natural hair
Before putting your wig over your hair, you need to secure it. My tip is to braid it. The root braid will keep your hair down and without volume, which is good for keeping the wig close to your scalp. If your hair is short, you can clip it into a ponytail, or secure it with bobby pins around your head. Ideally, you should also wear a cap over your hair.
2 – Use adhesive or glues suitable for wigs
If you didn’t already know, there are specific glues on the market for you to attach your wig and keep in place. So use specific wig glues! No more using those glues you find in haberdashery or stationery stores! Also, always be careful that before using the wig, test the glue on a small piece of skin to see whether or not you have allergies.
3 – Take care of your hair
If you plan to wear your wig for a short period (such as a week), you can even go through that period without washing the strands of your own hair. But if you plan to wear your wig for a long period of time, you need to take care of the hair under the wig so that it doesn’t dry out, especially if it’s a Black Wig. That means you need to wash it and moisturize it.
4 – Don’t wear the wig for too long
The time of use of a lace front will depend on its installation method. For those placed with glue or adhesive, the time will depend on the type of adhesive you use.
5 – Be careful when removing the wig
If you used glue or adhesives to put your wig on, remember to use the glue remover to get it off. Apply the product in sufficient quantity to make the glue a little more malleable, and remove the lace front slowly and carefully.
6 – After removing the wig, moisturize your hair
The last tip I can give you is to wash it well and give it power hydration after you remove the wig. Remember to give your hair a break, because although these types of wigs make you look beautiful, your natural hair under them is very beautiful too and needs to be valued. Wigs are an accessory and your real hair is the main thing and it is part of who you are!
